DescriptionAbout the role We currently have positions available for qualified, reliable and passionate Personal Care Workers to join our team in Charters Towers and surrounding areas.
As a Carer, you will need to be friendly, positive and demonstrate the ability to assist in the provision of holistic client-focused care using a systematic approach.
Having the ability to establish and maintain effective communication and work harmoniously as a pivotal member of the care team by showing empathy and treating others with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities: GeneralSupport elderly clients maintain their independence and well-beingHelp with personal care tasks, such as bathing and groomingProvide companionship and social interactionAssist with household chores and organising activitiesMonitor health and document careCollaborate with healthcare professionals and family membersPersonal Care AssistanceAssist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming and toiletingAssist with mobility aids (walking sticks, hoists, 4 wheel walkers and wheelchairs)Domestic SupportAssist with housekeeping, including cleaning, laundry and meal preparationAccompany clients for grocery shopping and errandsKeep the living environment clean and organisedEmotional and Social SupportEngage in conversations and activities to provide companionship and social interactionOffer emotional support and encouragement to improve clients' mental well-beingEnhance the integrity of clients by respecting their personal values, beliefs, customs and protecting their rightsTransport ServicesProvide transportation for clients to appointmentsEnsure a safe and comfortable travel experience for all passengersAdhere to traffic regulations and maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicleShopping Services / Shop-by-listReceive shopping lists from clients and ensure accurate and timely completion of shopping tasksHandle cash transactions and maintain receiptsQualificationsExperience in providing care for aged care or disability clientsKnowledge of person-centred care principles and safety regulationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCompassionate, patient and empathetic attitudeAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical stamina for lifting, bending and manual tasksValid driver's licence and reliable transportationFlexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and eveningsPreferred SkillsMinimum Certificate III in Individual CareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWillingness to learn, develop and take on new challengesValid National Police CheckCurrent First Aid and CPR CertificateDriver's licence with own registered vehicleEndorsed to administer medication (desirable), otherwise training provided #J-18808-Ljbffr
