Queensland Corrective Services (Organisation site)High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections and Specialist Operations; BrisbaneThe Manager, Regional Services leads business support services ensuring the effective delivery of human resource management, financial management and logistical services to meet regional performance objectives.The Manager Regional Services will actively lead and manage the strategies and systems that are integral to ensuring continuous improvement of the capacity and capability of the region to meet performance objectives.Applications will remain current for a period of up to 12 months and may be considered for other backfilling opportunities which may include an alternative employment basis (temporary; full time or part time).The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities, skills, and experience:Communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues.Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced by the ability to build successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders with a range of competing interests.Written communication and research skills including the ability to prepare reports and submissions on complex matters and analysis of trends.Problem solving and analytical skills for investigating and resolving HR issues and for improving HR processes and improving work practices and reporting procedures.Management skills, including project, human resource and financial management skills, to ensure the effective utilisation of resources, and management of change impact within the team.Experience in a HR/WHS role at a senior level.Experience in the identification, design and implementation of HR/WHS strategies and solutions relating to performance management, workforce planning, workplace health & safety systems and strategic planning.Strength in organisation design and effectiveness, building and developing teams, and must be capable of delivering the full spectrum of HR/WHS generalist and organisational development support to meet both current and future needs.Risk assessment and management identification and analysis.Performance assessment and management skills.Strategic analysis, policy and planning skills.Ability to understand and apply legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the position.Why work for QCS?Experience a workforce that values diversity and inclusivity to best represent the community we serve.Comprehensive leave provisions to support a healthy work-life balance.Structured progression and professional growth plans including leadership development opportunities.Join an organisation committed to creating diverse, inclusive, connected, capable and supportive workplaces.We aim to provide workplaces where all employees feel safe, supported and valued, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, disability or background.How to ApplyTo be considered for this role, please provide the following information to the selection panel for assessment of your suitability:A cover letter (1-2 pages maximum) outlining how your knowledge, skills and experiences make you a competitive candidate against the Leadership competencies for Queensland (team leader): Vision, Results and Accountability within the context of the essential requirements 'role fit' and responsibilities described under 'about the role'.Your current curriculum vitae/resume, including two referees who can attest to your performance and conduct in the workplace.Referees should have a thorough knowledge of your capabilities, work performance and conduct within the previous two years, and it is preferable to include your current/immediate/past supervisor.By providing the names and contact details of your referee/s you consent for these people to be contacted by the selection panel.If you do not wish for a referee to be contacted, please indicate this on your resume and contact the selection panel chair to discuss.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.
