This role leads on key engagement and co-design activities to deliver on QDN's peak body work, including the activities to deliver on the Queensland Disability Stakeholder Engagement and Co-Design Strategy focused on disability reforms.
This is a hands-on role actively engaging with people with disability, community stakeholders, and Government, and your work will have considerable impact.
You can expect to build the capacity of people with disability and other key stakeholders in engagement and co-design, undertake research, and deliver accessible and inclusive information based on reports, data, legislation, and developing key strategic pieces to inform reform implementation.What will you bring to the role?High level of knowledge and awareness of issues, policy, and legislation important in the lives of people with disability.High level analytical skills.Demonstrated ability to think strategically; using data to drive policy positions or activities to influence change.Excellent writing skills: the ability to turn complex information into succinct, easy-to-understand, and engaging material; and the knowledge and experience to produce high-quality literature reviews.Demonstrated supervisory skills.Effective engagement skills across a broad range of consumer, community, and government stakeholders; with engagement experience in the disability, health, or human services areas.Experience working with Microsoft 365 and other software applications.The ability to comply with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation and frameworks, including Work Health and Safety requirements, QDN's processes, NDIS Quality and Safeguards, and Queensland Human Rights Act.We value lived experience.
People with disability, or family connections of people with disability, are strongly encouraged to apply.What will you do in the role?Undertake effective engagement and co-design with people with disability, families/carers, and other key stakeholders to inform Queensland's disability reform implementation.Undertake analysis, anticipate and identify policy issues, and report on trends of engagement and policy reform work across multiple intersecting content or thematic areas.Deliver on activities to implement the Stakeholder Engagement and Co-design strategy which includes engagement and leading facilitation, co-design with diverse stakeholders to inform the design of policy, programs, and legislation.Provide thematic analysis and translation of engagement activities to produce comprehensive reports, briefings, publications, and communication material that incorporates feedback from the activities as part of the Stakeholder Engagement and Co-Design Strategy.Establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with people with disability, families, carers, peak organisations, advocacy and disability community organisations, and Government departments to deliver on the strategy and the disability reforms.Lead the day-to-day functions of the Queensland Stakeholder Engagement and Co-Design Strategy workplan including prioritising workflow, staff supervision, and reporting requirements.Contribute to the capacity building of people with disability and families/carers and workshop content and frameworks to enable them to participate meaningfully in engagement and co-design processes.Coordinate the work of project delivery partners to deliver on project outputs and outcomes.Contribute to the development of a data collection tool to measure impact and outcomes of the Strategy and contribute to project evaluation.Participate actively in QDN's culture of a safe and inclusive work environment.Other duties as directed by your line manager.What can you expect from working at QDN?QDN has a rich history as a unique and diverse disability membership organisation.
