We have an exciting opportunity to join the People and Culture team on a full-time fixed-term basis as our Talent Acquisition Specialist. This is a flexible role based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
The Role As Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will contribute to the Workforce Implementation and Integration project (WIIP) aimed at scaling up Paralympics Australia's workforce to deliver the National Classification System and provide enhanced Pathways expertise to support growth of Para pathways across National Sport Organisations, National Sporting Organisations for Disability and National Institute Network Partnerships. The project will focus on recruiting and developing new talent, integrating roles into PA's organisational structure, embedding of roles into partner organisations, and ensuring the workforce network operates effectively and cohesively.
This project will support the organisation overall efforts to align resources, maintain and strengthen employee engagement and support effective change management across the organisation.
The Person The ideal candidate should bring a positive and energetic attitude, excelling in a fast-paced environment. You are proactive, ready to tackle tasks directly, and willing to assist wherever needed. Your skill set includes strong communication abilities, keen attention to detail, effective problem-solving, and proven interpersonal skills. You can influence others, manage sensitive situations, and maintain confidentiality when required.
You will partner with the Performance Strategy team to understand the recruitment needs and develop effective recruitment strategies that attract high-quality candidates. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in building a talent pipeline and contributing to a positive employer brand.
The Responsibilities Manage the entire recruitment process from job posting through to offer acceptance, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding. Utilise various channels, including online job boards, social media, networking, and recruitment agencies, to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates. Conduct phone screenings and coordinate interviews with hiring managers, ensuring a smooth and efficient candidate experience. Maintain strong communication with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing timely updates and feedback. Partner with department heads to understand hiring needs and develop role profiles. Work closely with the Performance Strategy team to ensure recruitment aligns with company goals and workforce planning. Support initiatives to enhance the company's employer brand, including participation in career events, and other employer branding activities. Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition. Track and report on key recruitment metrics such as time-to-hire and candidate satisfaction. Use data to make recommendations for continuous improvement. Ensure recruitment activities comply with employment laws and company policies. Maintain accurate and confidential records. Experience and Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment software. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Experience with sourcing techniques including cold calling, networking, and use of social media platforms like LinkedIn. Education and Training: Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Current Working with Children Check An understanding of and experience in a Paralympic Games environment is preferable (but not a requirement).
