Teaching - Secondary (Education & Training) Clayfield College is a leading independent school, owned and governed by the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA) on behalf of the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches.

The Head of e-Learning is responsible for leading digital learning across the entire school.
Through building and maintaining digital learning programs, this role will create an educational atmosphere conducive to learning and developing the use of technology throughout the school to enhance learning experiences.
The Head of e-Learning is expected to support the school vision, mission, and strategic plan by working with all members of the school community, the Teaching and Learning Leadership Team, the Primary Leadership Team, and the Senior Leadership Team to develop a vision for how technology can be utilised to enhance, improve, and support communication, curriculum, and learning as well as the operational efficiency of the school.
The position includes a classroom teaching role.
This allocation may include timetabled classes and/or collaborative teaching opportunities through special programs delivered at the College.
The role of the teacher is to develop and implement the Australian Curriculum/Senior Queensland Curriculum consistent with the school's philosophy, policies, and practice.
In addition to being an excellent teacher, as a member of the Teaching and Learning Leadership Team, the Head of e-Learning provides leadership and coordination of resources within the Department to ensure Clayfield College goals are met with regard to excellence for the e-learning area.
The position also ensures that the continuity of students' educational learning and personal growth from Pre-Prep to Year 12 remains a positive, inspiring, and enriching experience.
An important aspect of fostering this student engagement is leading the ongoing growth and development of the digital learning area.
Position Overview The Head of e-Learning will have an in-depth understanding in one or more subjects within their learning area, as demonstrated through professional knowledge, understanding, and leadership attributes that can be utilised in supporting and achieving the strategic intentions of the College.
The Head of e-Learning is also responsible for the management of the Learning Resource Centre, the e-learning Hub of the College.
A Head of Department is expected to be a teacher with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an awareness of contemporary education developments, and a clear understanding of accountability in this role.
All Clayfield College teachers are responsible for supporting the Christian mission of the College through creating and maintaining effective learning environments that enhance the learning needs of all students.
As a teacher at Clayfield College you will:
participate in Christian learning or service activities and model and advocate the Christian ethos of the College and the PMSA plan, prepare, deliver and assess effective learning and teaching programs create and maintain productive learning environments which support the learning needs of students at the College contribute to the implementation of the College Strategic Plan support and contribute to the maintenance of the pastoral and spiritual ethos of the College display a thorough knowledge of contemporary pedagogy through excellent teaching practice, including the integration of technology. willingly and voluntarily contribute to the College co-curricular program. In consultation with members of the Senior Leadership Team, develop and implement a strategic plan for e-Learning in the College Ensure the strategic vision for leveraging technology to enhance learning experiences prepares our students for their futures and aligns with the College's Strategic Plan Collaborate with teachers and Heads of Department to integrate e-Learning into the curriculum and pedagogy, and to support differentiated learning and assessment. Lead the ongoing implementation and associated ongoing professional development for the College's Learning Management System/Platform (LMS). Work with the ICT Manager to oversee the operations and functioning of the College's Learning Resource Centre and all activities scheduled within this learning space Lead Digital Learning at Clayfield College informed by research, contemporary pedagogy, and current and emerging technologies Lead, collaborate with, and coordinate staff and students in the use of technologies with an emphasis on growth, creativity, and innovation Monitor and report on the quality and impact of e-Learning activities and initiatives, using data and feedback to inform continuous improvement. In consultation with the Senior Leadership Team, provide professional development and training opportunities for teachers and educational support staff on e-Learning best practice, trends, and innovations Provide opportunities for students to become digital leaders across the College Engage and develop partnerships to enhance student opportunities Lead the use of digital communication tools to collaborate and engage locally and globally Establish and maintain effective communication and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders Continually improve practice by remaining informed of contemporary digital learning tools and practices Advise and consult with the Senior Leadership Team on digital educational projects and initiatives that would benefit students within the Primary and Secondary Schools and promote digital learning within the school community Build confidence and competence across the community through the continued development of digital literacy and technology skill sets Support the College to comply with existing and new legislative, administrative, organisational and professional responsibilities Undertake other activities that the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities listed above Any other appropriate duties as required by the Principal. Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attributes Passionate about lifelong learning and educating young men and women High level understanding of ICT appropriate for use in schools Experience with coding and robotics Queensland teacher registration and relevant teaching qualifications and experience Well-developed interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills whilst demonstrating respect for and acceptance of difference in students, parents, and team members Ability to work as a collaborative team member Excellent organisational and administration skills Commitment to striving for continuous improvement and achieving exceptional outcomes Strong work ethic, ownership, and concern for quality of own work reflected in accuracy and attention to detail Flexibility and ability to adapt and operate effectively in a challenging and changing environment. Leadership or management experience in a similar role Current First Aid and CPR (essential).
