Deputy Head of College - Learning and Teaching Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs.

The College is seeking applications for the position of Deputy Head of College – Learning and Teaching commencing in 2025.

The Deputy Head Learning and Teaching is a member of the College Executive Team and the College Leadership Team, with delegated responsibility for the quality and outcomes of the College's learning and teaching programs.
This position is responsible for leading and developing learning and teaching programs; the analysis of the academic data; improving the quality of teaching and learning and student achievement; and building a learning community striving for excellence.

This position is responsible for the academic outcomes of all students, with particular emphasis on ATAR results.

Remuneration is as per the Deputy Principal Scale of the Catholic Employing Authority Single Enterprise Bargaining Agreement Religious Institute Schools of Qld 2023 – 2026.
The successful applicant will be appointed for a period of five (5) years, renewable for a further five (5) years on the completion of a successful performance review.

The ideal applicant will have the following: Role Specific A demonstrated commitment to the evangelisation of young people in the context of a Marist Catholic school; Master's degree which includes at least four units of Theology (or willingness to undertake such studies); Experience in Middle or Senior Leadership roles within schools; Experience in leading and improving student and teacher outcomes in learning and teaching – including NAPLAN and ATAR outcomes; A recognised ability to establish positive and productive relationships with staff, students and parents; Applicants must be registered (or be eligible) to teach in Queensland.
Management and Leadership Management and Leadership experience including:
Ability to lead, manage and develop cohesive staff teams; Strong sense of self-awareness and the ability to use it to lead by example.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including:
Supportive of Marist College's ethos and a willingness to embrace the total life of the College; Proven track record of working collaboratively within a team; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to model optimism and a growth mindset; Driven by a genuine service ethos and able to inspire the same in others.
The criteria below will be used by the selection panel to evaluate applicants:
Religious Leadership Demonstrated ability to foster and grow the religious life of the school, effectively promote a healthy liturgical and prayer life, and provide leadership through personal example.

Demonstrated ability to ensure that data and best practice research determines improvement outcomes in teaching and learning throughout the school.

Staff and Community Leadership Demonstrated ability to ensure that the Marist ethos is known, cared for and developed among the Learning and Teaching Team.

Organisational Leadership Demonstrated ability to lead the Teaching and Learning Team to ensure policies and practices in the school deliver the best learning opportunities to all students, and that the teaching enterprise is appropriately supported at all levels.

Strategic Leadership Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead learning and teaching as part of the College's strategic plan with the Learning Team.
