Job Description - Construction Manager (261149)UGL's Utilities BusinessUGL's utilities business undertakes essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors. Our end-to-end delivery ranges from transmission lines, switchyards, substations, electrical distribution through to water and wastewater treatment plants and water pipelines.Our expertise includes design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance where our Utilities Team safely leads and delivers design & construct projects across Australia.The OpportunityUGL Utilities team is currently looking for a Construction Manager for a substation and high voltage transmission line project. This position will be based on site in regional NSW and North QLD.About the RoleSome key responsibilities of this role will include:Direct and control on-site transmission construction activities to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety, and performance are observed and that time schedules are met.Interface with engineering, procurement, commercial, quality, material handling, and expediting logistic functions to ensure immediate construction activities once on site.Maintain seamless liaison between Engineering, Quality, and document control for all on and off-site project activities.Liaise directly with clients to maintain high-level customer service relationships.To be Successful You Will RequireA minimum of 5 years' industrial/commercial construction experience working on linear projects.Experience in managing and leading a team of people.Knowledge of OHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice, and Standards as they apply to the construction industry.Strong background dealing with contractor organizations and enforcing compliance with HSEQ performance measures.Demonstrated ability to participate in and contribute to accident/incident investigations, risk assessments, and hazard and injury management processes.Proven commercial acumen working for a principal contracting business.What Makes You Right for UGLAbility to provide a safe, supportive, and positive workplace.Empower a united and collaborative culture.Deliver technical excellence and create efficient, innovative solutions.Build an enviable reputation and the trust of employees, clients, and other stakeholders.Genuine concern for safety and the environment.About UsUGL is well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction, and maintenance services within rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water, and defence markets.
