+11.5% Superannuation) Role Details The Department for Child Protection is seeking multiple Senior Social Workers and Senior Case Managers to join the Kinship Assessment Team (located in Blair Athol) and Long Term Guardianship team (located in Adelaide CBD).
Positions available include: · Part-time (0.7) term vacancy until 23 May 2025 · Part-time (0.5) term vacancy until 30 May 2025 · Part-time (0.9) term vacancy until 4 July 2025 · Full-time term vacancy until 27 June 2025 · 12-month full-time term vacancy The roles are responsible for: · Undertaking a comprehensive social work assessment in relation to transfer of guardianship and kinship care and identifying potential risk factors, including training and support requirements · Making recommendations for carer support and ensuring efficient and effective communication with all identified stakeholders, preparing high quality reports, memos and presentations · Operating within and across relevant professional networks to enable all perspectives to be considered when assessing the capacity and motivation of carers · Identifying, collecting and sharing information about potential kinship carers and guardians and their situations.
About You We are looking for a motivated, organised individual who has knowledge and understanding of children and young people particularly in regards to developmental stages.
You will have experience in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating interventions aimed at meeting the needs of clients, families and the organisation.
The successful applicant will also have the ability to apply culturally sensitive child protection practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and community from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Special Conditions Essential: AHP: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
PO: Appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or related field.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
