Then look no further. This is for a Fixed Term Full Time for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency to cover a period of Parental Leave. What is our Clinical Nurse Specialist – Public Health role? This position is responsible for the coordination, planning and delivery of clinical services and supervision of the Clinical Nurse and Registered Nurse workforce in Humanitarian Entrant Health Service (HEHS); and WA Tuberculosis Control Program (WATBCP).
The role is responsible for providing clinical leadership, service capacity and direction to these programs in consultation with the Clinical Nurse Manager to optimise effectiveness and efficiency of the services.
The position acts as a clinical nurse specialist resource in the delivery of care including liaison with relevant primary health care and other organisations; assisting with data collection, analysis and reporting to support the implementation of prevention strategies and education.
What is the Humanitarian Entrant Health Service The Humanitarian Entrant Health Service (HEHS) provides a holistic health assessment service for all refugees and humanitarian entrants who are resettled in Western Australia under the Commonwealth Government's Humanitarian Program and Special Humanitarian Program.
People from refugee backgrounds may have health issues not identified, or addressed by pre-migration health checks and which may not be adequately addressed by Australian mainstream health services due to linguistic, cultural and financial barriers.

Area Profile Public Health in the NMHS provides a diverse array of services to protect, promote and improve the health of our community.
The NMHS Public Health Service includes a number of programs, many which predominantly perform public health functions, and other programs that perform clinical or clinical support roles.
Some of the programs serve the population of NMHS, while others work beyond the bounds of NMHS to support populations across the Perth Metropolitan area or the entire state.
Public health addresses the needs and the health of the population and the primary focus is on prevention of disease or promotion of good health through the delivery of clinical and non-clinical services.
The typical domains of public health include communicable disease control, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health promotion, health equity for disadvantaged populations and health policy.
