We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager Sales to join our Melbourne-based team and lead our sales operations to new heights.

Position Overview:
As the General Manager Sales, you will oversee and direct the sales strategies for the company while ensuring the alignment of business objectives.
This role combines elements of strategic planning, market development, and team leadership to achieve sustained growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Planning
Develop and implement strategic sales plans and objectives to meet company goals.
Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify business opportunities.
Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and allocation of resources for the sales department.
Sales and Client Relationship Management
Plan, direct, and coordinate the sales activities of the organization.
Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the company's market presence.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, negotiating contracts and agreements to achieve maximum profitability.
Team Development and Leadership
Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
Set performance targets and monitor the progress of sales representatives.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Market and Product Development
Conduct market research to identify customer needs and preferences.
Collaborate with product development teams to align offerings with market demand.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Operational Oversight
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance and market trends to senior management.
Optimize sales processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) or at least five (5) years of relevant employment experience.
Proven experience in a senior sales and management role, preferably within the processing or packaging industry.
Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
