The Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest tertiary referral centre, and our pharmacy team provides comprehensive services across diverse areas, including inpatient care, outpatient clinics, virtual care, and high-acuity settings.
Our pharmacy team collaborates closely with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centred, medicine-related care.
With patient safety and professional development at the heart of our ethos, we are committed to fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.The Role:Lead the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of pharmacy education programs.Build capacity for the pharmacy service to provide high-quality training programs.Establish relationships with universities and act as the interface between the pharmacy service and the university regarding pre-entry student placements.Provide clinical leadership, support, and supervision to pharmacy interns, pharmacy technicians, early career pharmacists, and pharmacists transitioning to hospital practice.Work in partnership with other Statewide Pharmacy Educators and Leads, Discipline leads/Managers, and universities to build productive networks and facilitate interdisciplinary education, training, professional development, and research opportunities.The Clinical Lead – Pharmacy Education and Support works autonomously under the direction of the site Clinical Pharmacy Manager and is accountable and responsible for the following:Exercising initiative and professional judgment across the spectrum of responsibilities, as well as judging when to seek advice or further direction from relevant Managers.Ensuring operations align with the goals and direction of the pharmacy service as directed by the Executive Director – Statewide Hospital Pharmacy, Statewide Hospital Pharmacy Portfolio Leads, Pharmacy Site Manager, and Clinical Pharmacy Manager.Maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness of information and advice.Recognising and maintaining own professional development needs.Details of Appointment:Multiple permanent, full-time and part-time, day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.Salary: $123,717 to $138,296 pro rata per annum + Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution.Salary range in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.
Access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.Benefits available to eligible candidates:Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.Professional development and accelerated pathways.A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.Fitness Passport – access to 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.Desirable Criteria:Experience in supervising and supporting pre-entry students, new graduate pharmacists, and new hospital pharmacy staff.Current Driver's Licence.Recognition at either Registrar or Consultant level with the Australian & New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP) in Education or another relevant discipline.Position Features:Participation in an on-call and weekend roster for out-of-hours provision of pharmacy services.Occasional intra and interstate travel may be required.The North-West positions will routinely travel between the Mersey Community Hospital and the North West Regional Hospital.Application Process:Applicants should refer to the Application Guide for more information on essential and desirable requirements and pre-employment checks.
