About the Role We are looking for a talented Financial Controller to join our team for delivering a first-class financial accounting service, meeting all statutory financial/reporting and taxation requirements, and leading an ongoing programme of improvement to systems, reporting and processes in line with best practice.
As the 2nd In charge to the Commercial & Finance Director, he/she will assist with financial analysis and will provide support across the quarterly forecast and annual budget process.
Key Responsibilities: Manage, mentor and empower the financial accounting and control team in accordance with OUP policies and proceduresAssist the Commercial & Finance Director in long term planning and short-term objectives setting of the Finance teamImplement new working practices and managing change effectivelyEnsure revenue assurance in relation to interbranch licensing of ANZ contentResponsible for the preparation and reporting of monthly accounts for ANZ in accordance with local and Group Finance requirementsEnsure accurate and on time completion of accounts that are prepared with adherence to financial reporting standards and Group Accounting PoliciesResponsible for monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts with variances reviewed and concerns reported to Commercial & Finance DirectorFulfil statutory requirements including Accounts, External Audit and ATO LodgementsRepresent OUPANZ with important third parties including, bankers, auditors, copyright agency, customers, and government statutory authoritiesWork closely with internal stakeholders regarding analysis and interpretation of financial information including, senior management team and departmental headsRepresent ANZ Finance on key projects and initiatives actively contributing and leading the way to successful completionEnsure strong cash flow and working capital management and adherence to Treasury policies, such as FX Hedging, Cash and Liquidity, and Overseas CounterpartyAbout You Qualified accountant and a member of either CA or CPAAt least 5 years of experience in managing a team, with proven track record of leadership, change management, tight control, and service deliveryAt least 8 years of experience in a senior financial accounting roleUp-to-date understanding of financial reporting standards, tax and GST legislationIn-depth understanding of financial accounting systems (ideally SAP), with an inherent interest in how systems work and how accounting entries are generatedUnderstanding of internal controls, and commitment to complianceExtensive experience of projects, acting as Subject Matter Expert and/or project leadDemonstrable ability to partner with staff in the business, negotiating SLAs and working together to implement changes in processesAbility to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of seniority and across different culturesHighly flexible working environmentTwo work-from-home days per week and rostered Friday afternoons off (fortnightly)Access to contemporary offices and facilities close to Southern Cross StationVaried learning and development opportunitiesThe opportunity to support Skyline Education Foundation through our Workplace Giving ProgramComprehensive wellbeing program, including an EAP available to you and your familyOther enterprise level benefits including Long Service Leave at 5 years, 2 days of Volunteering Leave per year and moreQueries Please contact ****** with any queries relating to this position.
