The RoleAs the Accounts Payable Officer, you will ensure the smooth and accurate operation of the Institute's payable function, providing vital support to the Accountant and Finance Manager.
This hands-on role requires timely input of financial transactions, contributing to month-end and year-end processes.
You'll build strong, trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Financial Management & Reporting
Managed supplier invoice processing, ensuring prompt approvals and accurate uploads to Microsoft Dynamics 365.Streamlined invoice matching with purchase orders, maintaining precise supplier records and rigorously verifying bank details.Ensured flawless allocation of G/L codes, departmental coding, and GST compliance.Orchestrated weekly and international payments, reconciled creditor accounts, and efficiently processed employee reimbursements.Supported month-end closing, journal entry processing, and audit facilitation.Proactively resolved invoice discrepancies and implemented improvements to enhance accounts payable efficiency.Reporting to the Finance Manager and CFO, you will collaborate with Research and Non-Research Department Heads, as well as external stakeholders such as Garvan, St Vincent's Hospital, UNSW, funding bodies, auditors, and insurance brokers.
You will gain valuable insights into the payable function, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into the Institute's financial system.

Customer-Centric: Strong focus on delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders. Desirable Background in a not-for-profit organization or research institute is highly preferred.Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Business Central is a strong advantage.
