Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalentExperience working with childrenQualifications Desired: Experience with elementary studentsJob Description: Work with students in a general education or special education classroom settingAssisting students with health care plansIndividual tutoring in academics and social skillsDirecting/redirecting attentionFinding, modifying, preparing materialsAssisting/monitoring moving around the buildingAssist with peer support activitiesAssisting students with personal hygiene activities and lifting of studentsPhysical Requirements and Work Environment: This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations.Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 4:00 pm, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours weekly, school year schedule of August to June annually.
Benefits: Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Retirement, and Holidays per the bargaining unit agreement.
Wage: $15.08 hourly.
Annual raises for the first five years, then every 5 years per the bargaining agreement.
