About the business Country Comfort Perth offers 150 modern guest rooms with complimentary on-site parking and a swimming pool.
Complimentary airport shuttles are available on request from Perth Domestic and International Airports (T1 - T4).
About the role This full-time role is an amazing opportunity for the successful candidate to commence their career within the hospitality industry under the guidance of the hotel's Maintenance Manager.
The role involves fixed weekend coverage with two days off mid-week.
The Handyman/Gardener is primarily responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager to ensure all hotel rooms, the restaurant, pool area, and grounds are maintained to an exceptionally high level.
The hotel is willing to mentor and develop the successful candidate, providing the necessary training to undertake this varied and diverse role.
Key areas of focus include: Maintaining all lawns, grounds, garden, and irrigation systemsDetailing and washing company vehicles, as well as assisting with shuttle dutiesEnsuring the pool is maintained in line with the Aquatic Pool Standards for Class 3 PoolsLiaising with other hotel staff and assisting with general tasks and guest assistance requestsDemonstrating the core values of the organisation: Passion, Accountability, Integrity, and RespectBenefits and perks Fantastic team environment, with supportive leadersFree onsite parkingAccommodation & F&B Discounts in all Vista Hospitality Group hotelsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Training & Development to grow your careerInter-hotel transfer optionsSkills and experience This role is ideally suited for a person wishing to kickstart a career in hospitality.

Prior experience with:
Gardening, reticulation, and small power tools is highly desiredBasic handyman tasks (drills, door locks, TV & basic electronics) are highly desiredThis is a physically demanding role and is suited to a person with a high level of fitness and staminaThe successful candidate must be:
Double vaccinated for Covid and willing to have required boostersAble to work unsupervisedDisplay a high level of respect for other team membersFit, as the role includes heavy lifting and is physically demandingRespectful and courteous to hotel guestsPunctual and passionate about service, inspirational, and full of positive energyWilling to go 'above & beyond'Confident to drive the hotel shuttle bus (automatic) for guest airport transfers with a relevant WA Drivers LicensePlease only apply if you are committed and available to work weekends.
