Services & Commissioning Manager

Overview As the Services & Commissioning Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the commissioning and handover of data center projects across Australia.
Reporting to the Regional Commissioning Manager, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure all project requirements are met, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Lead the commissioning process for multiple data center projects, ensuring smooth progression from initiation through to handover to operations teams and clients.Coordinate closely with contractors, suppliers, commissioning agents, and clients to meet specific project and data center commissioning requirements during the testing and handover phases.Collaborate with internal development and design teams to uphold safety and quality benchmarks tailored for data center environments.Provide leadership and guidance to commissioning and construction teams, identifying and mitigating risks while ensuring adherence to data center project specifications.Manage numerous data center projects at varying stages and provide direction to commissioning managers on-site.Ensure all commissioning procedures comply with relevant safety, environmental, and data center industry policies.Drive collaboration between contractors, suppliers, and commissioning agents to facilitate efficient and effective project handovers.Resolve technical issues during commissioning, maintaining focus on data center-specific requirements.Participate in design and commissioning meetings to ensure that industry standards are maintained, and report regularly to management on the progress of commissioning activities.Develop and manage commissioning schedules with contractors and vendors to ensure timely project completion in line with data center operational requirements.Oversee defect management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any issues encountered during the commissioning of data center infrastructure.Ensure timely submission of all documentation, including MOPs, O&M manuals, and training materials, in accordance with project handover requirements for data center operations teams.Requirements Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Commissioning Manager or in a similar role, leading successful handovers of complex projects, with a strong preference for experience in data center projects.Proven ability to work with MEP suppliers, contractors, and commissioning agents within the APAC region, particularly within the data center industry.Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on data center-specific operational needs.Strong decision-making skills and accountability for project outcomes, particularly in the context of critical infrastructure such as data centers.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data center design and commissioning strategies to clients, peers, and senior management.Leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across multiple geographies, particularly in data center environments.Note: While this role is primarily based in Melbourne, travel to other regions, including international locations, may be required.
