You'll also have access to continuing education and development opportunities, allowing you to grow your career, all while working to improve community health outcomes and wellbeing.Service:Community Mental Health - Rehabilitation Services (Whyalla)Whyalla Hospital hosts the Saltbush Community Mental Health Rehabilitation service, which is part of the South Australian Government's strategy to reform mental health services and to provide a stepped model of care to regional South Australians at a location closer to home.
The service supports people who may have been living independently in the community but require a more supported environment to enhance their living skills, or those who may have completed their stay in hospital and are ready for community-based treatment and rehabilitation.About the Role:Under supervision, the Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, and Provisional Psychologist (AHP1) contribute to the delivery of evidence-based, recovery-oriented mental health services.
They provide care across community, acute, and rehabilitation settings, utilizing their discipline-specific therapeutic approaches.
They develop their knowledge and skills through professional development while working in a multi-disciplinary team to meet consumer needs.
These professionals play a vital role in integrated clinical care, working to promote recovery and wellbeing in the local community.With reduced clinical direction, the Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, and Psychologist (AHP2) apply their clinical expertise to plan, implement, and evaluate a range of mental health services.
They work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team, using specialized therapeutic approaches to support consumers' recovery.
These professionals may also supervise less experienced staff and contribute to their development.
They integrate their knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive care across various service settings, enhancing outcomes for consumers and their families.About You:Occupational Therapist: Must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and as a regulated profession be eligible for registration as an occupational therapist in Australia.Psychologist: AHP1: Must hold a recognised four-year qualification within the Psychology profession and be eligible to hold provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
AHP2: Must hold general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.Social Worker: Must hold a recognised qualification within the Social Work profession and be eligible for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)Applicant Information:The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part-time.
