The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney's south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster, and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities. With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Safety Advisor with a strong Mechanical and Electrical background to join our Safety team on the M6 Stage 1 Project. The role will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of Safety practices, systems and procedures.
Key Accountabilities

Lead the development and implementation of a positive safety culture across the project
Provide high-level safety expertise to mechanical & electrical project staff, workers and subcontractors
Undertake serious incident investigations, critical risk reviews, audits, inspections, task observations etc trends
Lead and monitor compliance with safety and also environmental policy, procedures and legislative requirements
Conduct regular inspections and audits and, prepare monthly data and reports as required
Conduct and facilitate Safety educational programs

About You

Considerable experience working on major/large infrastructure projects specifically within a Mechanical & Electrical scope
Tertiary qualifications in OH&S – preferably Advanced Diploma or higher
The ability to build and maintain strong relationships within teams and with individuals
The ability to work autonomously and as a team

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
