Organisation: Department of Energy, Environment and Climate ActionOccupation: ScienceReference: VG/50945240AThe Project Officer (Science Writer) has an important role working across the Commissioner's team especially in providing proofreading and supporting the science writers and communication advisor in extending science research and writing capability and synthesising and presenting complex information. The role requires a systems thinker with strong technical, analytical and writing skills, an aptitude for project management and a candidate who enjoys working as a part of a small team. The role will often require direct engagement with stakeholders so an excellent communicator and collaborator is preferred, with strong stakeholder management and public presentation skills, and a candidate who can consult purposefully with stakeholders from across government, business, academia, non-government organisations and the broader community.Specialist/Technical Expertise/QualificationsPhD qualification in an environmental management or science disciplineScience writing qualifications or demonstrated experience (e.g. academic thesis)This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 Months.
