The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research.About the roleReporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, you will join a dedicated People and Culture team focused on the provision of outstanding advice and support to the business.
With responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day, core activities and operations of the People & Culture team, you will ensure the effective management of all processes aligned to the employee lifecycle including HR administration, recruitment, selection, onboarding, offboarding, performance management and payroll.With a deep understanding of HR processes and systems, this key role will manage initiatives to enhance the service of the P&C function to support RACS employees and leaders across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
You will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee and people leader experience throughout the employee lifecycle.Key responsibilities will include:Reporting and tracking operational P&C service delivery to ensure optimal employee experience and cost efficiencyIdentifying and implementing the design, monitoring and improvement of operational P&C processes, policies, systems and ways of working to achieve operational efficiencies within the team, aligned to organisation objectivesOverseeing the effective and timely management of all payroll processesManagement of the HR information system (HRIS), ensuring its effective implementation and utilisation by the P&C team, employees and leadersAs the system owner of the HRIS, overseeing its maintenance and optimisation to improve efficiency, data accuracy and integrityProviding operational oversight of P&C services pertaining to the employee lifecycle and act as the escalation point for all core operational tasks and activities, providing assistance and coverage to ensure service delivery is uninterruptedUnderstanding, developing and reporting on meaningful P&C team operational reporting and people metrics to assist with data driven decision makingSkills and experienceProven experience in leading and motivating a HR/P&C team to achieve departmental goals and objectivesExperience in overseeing the effective operations of a team and achieving process and operational improvements and efficienciesA passion to drive process improvements that deliver a positive employee experienceAbility to analyse complex data and information and to make sound decisions based on findingsSolid understanding of employment related laws, regulations and best practice preferably across Australia and Aotearoa New ZealandSolid understanding of payroll processing and related softwareProficient in the use of HRIS systemsAbility to identify issues and implement effective solutions to address themExcellent communication skills with experience in developing effective relationships with all stakeholders across all levels of the organisation as well as externallyA work style that is warm, approachable and solution focusedAt our organisation, we are proud to have a positive impact on improving health outcomes in the community.
