About the Role
Tomago Aluminium is seeking a dynamic Technical & Business Improvement Manager to drive performance and operational excellence across their smelting operations.
We are looking for an individual with deep technical expertise in the aluminium industry, combined with a passion for business improvement and process optimisation.

This is a unique leadership role that blends subject matter expertise with hands-on process improvement, delivering sustainable changes that enhance production, quality, efficiency, and profitability.

What You'll Be Doing
Reporting into the CEO, you will form part of Tomago's executive leadership team.
You will bring a deep understanding of how a smelter works and what good performance looks like, and defining excellence and the Tomago way.

You'll combine your technical knowledge with process improvement methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to deliver real, measurable improvements in production, quality, and cost-efficiency.

You will be working as part of the executive leadership team to drive and deliver on Tomago's strategic objectives.
Partnering with leaders to build lean mindset and technical capability and performance across Tomago workforce.
Develop business improvement and technical roadmaps to achieve improvement on technical performance and production across Tomago.
Use data and analytics to track the impact of improvements and make sure they align with business goals.
Play a key role in shaping operations, technical performance and driving strategy across the site.
Lead, coach and develop a team of specialists to deliver on strategic initiatives and key business performance goals.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a proven leader who can combine technical expertise with business improvement capabilities to deliver sustainable performance enhancements.

Technical Expertise:

Knowledge of aluminium smelters and key drivers.
Develop and drive implementation of technical roadmap based on world best practice and new technology.
Coordinate technical team.
Responsible for the site 5 year plan and look after the mass balance on site.
Driving strategic objectives to ensure business goals are achieved.
Business Improvement Expertise:

Experience in developing management operating systems including design, training and implementation.
Proficiency in Lean transformation and DMAIC methodology.
Leadership & Collaboration:

Foster a leadership style that focuses on safety and the attainment of business goals through connection with people, promotion of teamwork and enhancing individual, group and organisation adaptability and effectiveness.
Ability to lead and coach a team of business improvement and technical team specialists.
Strong communication and influencing skills to drive change across the organisation.
