This is a Permanent, Term Time position completing 27.5 hours per week.The role of School Officer – Library Technician is responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the library with a broad range of associated roles and tasks.
The School Officer – Library Technician will be required to apply some judgement and discretion with the application of equipment, work organisation, service provision and actions to achieve outcomes within time constraints.Key AccountabilitiesDaily opening and closing procedures.Responsible for library stocktake.Maintain library environment and facilities.Train library volunteers.Maintain library equipment.Maintain, operate and troubleshoot issues with equipment including IT and AV equipment.Circulation and help desk duties.Responsible for conducting resource management, cataloguing, back orders and stocktaking of resources.Administrative tasks to support the functioning of the library – barcoding, stamping, spine labelling and covering.Assist and liaise with the Finance Officer for reconciling library budget expenses related to resources.Promote the Library and resources to all staff and students.Preparation and coordination of advertising for Book Club and Book Fair.Oversee and support Library activities and clubs, including timetabling.Undertake special projects as required.Other duties as requested by the Leadership team.Mandatory CriteriaQualification at certificate level or equivalent knowledge and experience relevant to the position.Knowledge and experience of Library Management Systems (LMS).Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government.Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.Experience in the school/education setting.Prior experience with Follet Destiny System.First Aid qualification or a willingness to complete.What we offerCompetitive Hourly Rate.Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading.Access to salary packaging options to maximise employee benefits and salary.Modern facilities, equipment and resources.Access to long service leave after 7 years of continuous service.14 Weeks' paid parental leave.Deferred Salary Scheme.Access to corporate health schemes.Induction processes and professional learning programs.Access to Employee Assistance Program.Wellbeing programs and initiatives.How to applyUpload a current resume.Upload a cover letter addressing the skills, attributes and experience to support the key accountabilities of the role identified in the position description.Complete the application form including your two nominated professional referees (name, position title and email address).Applications during the shortlisting phase will be kept confidential.Applications close at 3.00pm Monday, 9 December 2024 unless filled prior.#J-18808-Ljbffr
