We're looking for a Chief Operating Officer who can see the big picture, plan the operations and be a great collaborator across our organisation.Australian Business Volunteers is a unique, responsive NFP meeting community needs across Australia and the Pacific.
ABV builds on Australia's long history of volunteering both across our region and at home in times of disaster.
We work at the intersection between business and community-led resilience and growth.
ABV is a team of several hundred Skilled Business Professionals who we support and guide with our small expert team.
Together we source community-led opportunities and deliver impactful corporate social responsibility programs.

If you're ready for a new challenge and want to join a company with a strong reputation and exciting future, ABV is the place for you.Your Mission as COOIn this key leadership role, you'll:Inspire & Lead: Manage a dynamic team and oversee diverse portfolios, including ABV's signature community-based program's implementation, marketing and the volunteer lifecycle including recruitment, engagement and experience.Shape the Future: Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and execute operational plans that align with our vision and strategic plan.Foster Excellence: Drive high-performance culture across operations, marketing, and volunteer initiatives.Strengthen Internal Connections: Build strong relationships with the Executive Team within ABV, fostering the matrix relationships enabling ABV's diverse portfolio across Australia and the Pacific.What Makes You the Perfect Fit?

The Selection Criteria you will need to address in your application are:Strategy and OperationsStrategic Leadership: You have strong experience leading teams and aligning operations with strategic objectives with good financial acumen.Operational Excellence: You have a proven ability to optimise processes, improve productivity, and manage performance metrics.End to end ownership: You can confidently execute from implementation to executive responsibilities, identifying the most important strategic problems to solve ahead of time, then jumping into the details to get things done when you need to.ExpertiseOversight of ABV signature Community-led programs: You understand and have experience in implementing community development programs across a range of geographies and sectors and can manage a portfolio of diverse development programs with an eye to effectiveness, achieving outcomes and excellent implementation.Oversight of Marketing and Volunteering within ABV's Operations: You will have experience in oversight of marketing and communications, and expertise in managing the volunteer lifecycle.Technology Integration: You have familiarity and expertise in integrating technology to streamline operations and drive business performance.Leadership and Team ManagementLeadership Under Uncertainty: You are skilled in motivating a team through fast-paced, changing conditions.Adaptability: You are very comfortable managing change and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Team Development: You have strong leadership and mentorship skills, with a focus on high-performance team development and peer-to-peer support within a matrix management organisation.Personal AttributesA Builder Mindset: You don't accept the status quo.
