We are seeking a dynamic Business Services Manager to join our local government and drive impactful initiatives that make a difference.
About the City The City of Nedlands is located 7km from the Perth CBD and includes a diverse range of features from the beautiful river foreshore of Dalkeith and Nedlands to the crisp white sands of Swanbourne beach.
With a dedicated workforce of professional service providers, we are committed to ensuring the City of Nedlands is a vibrant, safe, and inclusive community with a high standard of local services and facilities.
About the role Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager Business Services will oversee and enhance key services for the City, ensuring alignment with its long-term goals.
The position involves managing a diverse portfolio, including community development, library services, arts and culture, property leasing, customer services, communications and engagement, and light fleet services.
Key Responsibilities: Drive strategic initiatives to deliver contemporary community services.Build strong partnerships with community groups and stakeholders.Identify and source funding for community projects.Manage commercial facilities, lease management, and light fleet services.Foster a positive team culture and ensure operational efficiency.Promote safety and well-being within the workplace.About the successful candidate The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Business Management or a related discipline and/or demonstrated substantial experience in a similar role.
Other essential requirements include:
Comprehensive knowledge of business services delivery and an understanding of local government operations or an equivalent context.Effective people management and leadership skills, including experience in guiding and managing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent service.Proficient in negotiation, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including report writing.Sound knowledge of community consultation and engagement practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.A current National Police Certificate (issued within the last 3 months).What we offer This position is a full-time, maximum term contract of up to 5 years duration.
A remuneration package between $164,488 and $201,114 per annum (inclusive of cash salary and superannuation) is on offer, dependent on skills and experience.
