Art Therapist (Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit)
The new SMHRU unit offers mental health rehabilitation services for individuals needing extended inpatient care in a secure environment.

About Your New Role

Gold Coast Health have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Art Therapist to join our newly developed Secure Mental Health Unit and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities
Advocate for the mental health needs of service consumers, their carers, and relevant agencies within the mental health team.
Provide art therapy knowledge and skills required for art therapy practice.
Provide professional judgement and continuously contribute to the development of best practice art therapy services.
Participate in the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols.
Provide specialised art therapy advice and reports.
Qualifications
Postgraduate qualification in art therapy (such as a relevant master's level degree).
Eligibility for professional membership with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA).
Driver Licence.
Blue card.
Evidence of vaccination, or ability to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost).
