About the RoleThe Accounting Manager is a key role responsible for accounts receivable and a range of business support responsibilities.
To succeed in this role, you need to be confident, a strong communicator and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the work done.
You have good problem solving skills and can grasp the ins and outs of the business within a short period of time.
Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, this role manages a small team of 3, works closely with internal stakeholders and has regular interactions with key customers.
This is a dynamic and varied role that covers a broad remit which includes accounts receivables, sales commissions, process improvements, contract approvals and customers' experience.
It suits someone who relishes working in a fast-paced environment, has a high energy level and is committed to service excellence.
Background in a similar role that manages the whole set of payment collection procedures and undertake other business coordination activities to meet company's goals is of significant interest.
Our request is that you come into the office 5 days a week to be familiar with the requirements, expectations and deliverables of this position.
A hybrid arrangement of 1-day WFH is possible for the right candidate after 6 months.
Please take note that this is a mat cover role for 18 months.
Key responsibilities include: Overseeing daily activities of the finance team, including billing collections, calculations, invoice posting and month-end activitiesEnsuring service billing, collections and GL entries are completed timely and accuratelyManaging sales support function to ensure orders are accurate, delivered on time and meet customer expectationsPreparing monthly journal entries, supporting schedules and balance sheet account reconciliationsReviewing the AR Aging to ensure invoices and credit are applied timelyComplying and analysing financial information to prepare entries to accounts, including general ledger accounts and document business transactionsUnderstanding sales commission structure and their calculationApplying established accounting principles to analyse financial information and prepare financial reportsGenerating reports, including sales, rebates and profitability reportSetting up new customers across company systems promptly and coordinating new venue applicationsManaging escalated customer enquiriesReviewing and approving contractor billing to ensure appropriate accounting treatment About YouTertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business or Finance, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience in a similar roleCPA / CA qualified is of significant interestExperience in manufacturing industryAt least 5 years' experience in Accounts Receivables and reportingAt least 3 years' experience managing a small teamStrong time management skills, hands-on and a self-starterDemonstrated commercial and business acumenStrong written and verbal communication skillsSuper user of accounting productsReckon / Quickbooks accounting package experience is helpful PerksEmployee reward and recognition program where awarded points can be redeemed for rewardsSparks Leadership Workshop for future leadersQuarterly company-wide social events and regular team get-togetherCorporate flu vaccine voucherOpportunity to work for a diverse and inclusive company.
