Your responsibilities

We search for an experienced Financial Accountant whose key tasks will day to day accounting and finance operations for legal entities located in Italy, Spain, Portugal to ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closing & reporting, and to cooperate with other finance departments to support overall department goals and objectives. The Financial Accountant reports to Team Leader.
- General ledger bookings, preparation and maintaining of supporting documentation
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts and intercompany balances in line with SOX requirements (bank and cash, assets, IFRS16, IFRS15, accruals, prepayments, payroll etc.)
- Month end closing and preparation of reporting package for specific companies
- Analytical review of reporting package
- Ensure that accounting records are thoroughly maintained
- Reconciliation of interfaces between internal systems
- Support with VAT reporting and tax compliance
- Support to Team Leader with local GAAP compliance and accuracy of financial statements
- Supporting management and operational business based on accounting and closing topics
- Other finance related tasks based on ad-hoc organizational needs
- Ensure appropriate communication with all business partners
- Propose improvement of systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

What you should offer
- Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or equivalent education (WiFi, ACCA etc.)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience within a multinational business in a SOX environment
- Experience and proven knowledge of local GAAP is highly welcomed (IT/PT/ES)
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- Professional experience in a leadership role
- Excellent analytical skills and process understanding

- Ability to identify problems and suggest workable solutions
- Able to think ahead in order to establish an efficient and appropriate course of action
