Your duties - Research in the fields of sustainable process design and sustainability assessment of chemical production processes (especially of continuous processes), in particular with respect to the extension of the classical life cycle assessment (LCA) by further environmental and social aspects - Comparative holistic sustainability assessment of batch and continuous processes for e.g. active pharmaceutical ingredients ("Green Chemistry Metrics") - Writing of scientific publications - Participation in the preparation and submission of research projects - Cooperation with research groups at the Institute for Systems Sciences, Innovation and Sustainability Research and international partners - Independent implementation of courses and proportionate holding of examinations - Support of students - Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures Your Profile - PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental System Sciences or comparable studies - In-depth knowledge of quantitative methods for sustainability assessment (Life Cycle Assessment or Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment) - Knowledge of qualitative methods for sustainability assessment and multi-criteria evaluation methods (desirable) - Knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry (desirable) - Scientific publication activity according to academic age - Excellent command of written and spoken English - Ability to work independently and to communicate scientific results comprehensibly - Ability to prepare presentations and present them at international conferences - Didactic aptitude for independent teaching **Benefits**: The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 4.061,50 gross/month (for full-time employment). This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
