**About the job**

As Head of the Alumina-Silica Department Europe, CIS & Turkey you are responsible for managing the Alumina-Silica R&D team in Leoben and taking the lead as a global product group responsible person. You are directly responsible for a team of Research Associates and Technical Associates in your area. You are driving, developing and fostering a diverse team of researchers. The development of new products as well as adaption and optimization of existing products according to internal/external requirements is one of the main field of activities. You will act as a knowledge-hub within your area of expertise and beyond. The coordination and initiation of R&D-projects either external (together with universities, partner companies) and/or internal (ProdMgmt./Marketing/plants/customers) is part of your active participation in our daily innovation process. Furthermore, you’ll be managing the project portfolio within the responsible area. In your role you will travel internationally to RHIM locations and as well to congresses/conferences/fairs.

**In addition, your tasks will include**
- Interface to central functions e.g., SCM, purchasing, Operations, QA
- Representing R&D at international congresses/conferences/fairs
- Working on and publishing of scientific papers
- Managing and realization of internal/external trainings

**What we expect from you in terms of**

**Education**

A technical university degree with focus on materials science, glass and ceramics, chemistry or similar

**Languages**

English - Proficient/Fluent

Any other language is considered as an asset

**Work Experience**

Profound knowledge of the refractory industry required

3+ years of relevant working experience

Experience of leadership will be considered as an advantage

The potential annual gross salary for this position starts at € 80.000,00 for a full-time basis. We value your education, skills and experience and will make sure these are reflected accordingly in your final set salary.
