TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER FOR RAILWAY INTERLOCKING CONTROL SYSTEMS (F/M/X)

Thales in Austria is a full system provider and global supplier of train control technology and traffic management systems (f. ex. European Train Control System (ETCS), Electronic interlockings, Operation Control Centers and dispatching systems, Field elements).

The route control product development team focuses on middleware layer building blocks like run-time execution environment, redundancy management, communication protocol stacks, boot/download procedures and diagnosis, which close the gap between operating system services and railway specific business logic.

As part of the route control product development team you are responsible for the technical project management of the development and integration of these components for new versions of the interlocking system product line.

YOUR CHALLENGE
- Technical project management and coordination of the development of next generation interlocking control systems
- Managing project with respect to project milestones, scope and budget
- Working in the area of safety critical systems
- Manage issues and risks, create mitigation plans and escalate to appropriate stakeholders as necessary
- Communication and reporting of status and critical issues in a short and concise format
- Working in an international team and in cooperation with other business line units

YOUR PROFILE
- Technical education, preferably Master studies in Computer Science or similar
- Minimum 3 years experience with technical project management with a focus of SW resp. SW/HW engineering projects
- Knowledge of safety critical systems or experience in railway domain is an advantage
- Positive attitude and persistence are key to succeed in this role
- Competitive mindset, strong desire to achieve
- Knowledge of project management tools (Primavera)
- Good level of German and English

- The salary for this position ranges from € 60.000 to € 75.000 gross p.a. Actual compensation is based on experience and qualification and can exceed the mentioned range.
