Your Responsibilities

Are you looking for a new challenge in your assistant career? We offer the exciting opportunity to lead a team of engaged and experienced assistants to professors in the field of Information and System Sciences (ISS) and to provide administrative support to the responsible Area Chair.
- Leading and further developing the team of Assistants to Professors, providing administrative support to professors and their international research groups
- Providing executive support to the Area Chair within the respective area including the entire office management (e.g., preparation of documents, presentations, reports, agendas and schedules)
- Office space management and budgeting
- Keeping the Area Chair informed, providing a bridge for collaboration with other scientific areas and administration
- Welcoming and onboarding of new faculty members within the respective area and coordination of return visits during the hiring process
- First point of contact for faculty members of the respective area including assistance with e.g., mid-term reviews and off-boarding
- Cooperation with the Events Office regarding planning and organization of retreats & symposia
- Taking care of guests as well as responsibility for area-wide seminar series

Your Profile
- Several years of work experience in an international and/or scientific environment in a comparable position
- Work experience in a supervising function is of advantage
- Very good understanding and knowledge of administrative processes (accounting, HR, etc.)
- Excellent command of English (written & spoken), knowledge of German would be an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive approach and problem solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
