What you’ll be doing...**

The Robotics Business Technology group is expanding its team and we are looking for a highly talented personality as a **Senior Engineering Manager** to join our team. You’ll be working in an exciting startup environment with the foundation of a large company (Verizon). You will have the freedom and autonomy to do your best work, with the support and camaraderie you need to enjoy your job. In this role you will be contributing to building and managing highly skilled software engineering teams working on our platform for autonomous mobile robots.

As a** Senior Engineering Manager**, you will work collaboratively within incubed ITs engineering and product team to build software for autonomous mobile robots with a focus towards enterprise customers. You will participate in a collaborative Agile team environment that builds features that not only meet customer requirements, but help incubed IT encourage best practices in an incredibly innovative industry.
- Leading teams with responsibilities of talent acquisition, management, career growth, team building, and mentoring.
- Participating in and organize agile practices such as standups, estimations, prioritization and retrospectives.
- Managing development projects in an agile environment.
- Helping the team remove obstacles and roadblocks.
- Ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
- Helping build a productive environment where team members take ownership of the product and enjoy working on it.
- Determining the need for training and talent development and related events (e.g. conferences).
- Looking for opportunities for continual improvements in infrastructure and processes.
- Keeping abreast of technology trends and best practice with the ability to share those findings with the team.
- Defining and setting professional development objectives and performance goals for engineers.
- Actively managing team performance through regular 1-1s, semi-annual review and annual performance review processes.
- Understanding product development roadmaps, and partnering with appropriate stakeholders to assemble tactical teams to meet initiative objectives in an extensible, scalable, and efficient manner.
- Developing and providing various engineering metrics to the team and Leadership.

What we’re looking for...**

You’ll need to have:

- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
- Management experience.
- Experience working with teams in an Agile environment.
- Fluency in English.

Even better if you have:

- Basic C++, Java or Python knowledge, as well as experience with Git and ROS - You understand the engineers toolbox
- Technical writing skills
- A technical degree.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational skills.
- Capability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of various factors.
- Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- A strong sense of urgency and bias to action - able to think on your feet.
- Knowledge of configuration & release management processes.
- Technical knowledge of Linux based platforms.
- Motivation and enthusiasm for software development and the surrounding toolchain.
- Passion for learning and independent work.
- Excellent team player with an eye towards growing your employees.
- Ability to embrace change and work in a fast paced, iterative environment.
- Demonstrated aptitude and desire to learn new skills.
- Willingness to accept new challenges, assist in troubleshooting issues, and possess the ability to jump into areas that go beyond the job description.
