VisIC Technologies, a Wide Bandgap Power Electronics Semiconductor Company, is seeking a VP of R&D to lead the design and development of advanced power modules based on internally developed GaN semiconductor dice.This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in power electronics and semiconductors, excellent communication skills, and a passion for innovation in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Job description  

Key Responsibilities: 


  2. Lead the development of GaN semiconductor devices, power modules, and motor inverter applications. 


  2. Manage, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary R&D team.  


  2. Provide high-level technical guidance and problem-solving support.  


  2. Collaborate with International cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Product) 

    to ensure R&D initiatives align with company's goals, market needs and customer requirements. 


  2. Drive the full products lifecycle from development through to manufacturing 


  2. Ensure compliance with automotive qualification standards and industry best practices 


  2. Define and execute long-term growth strategies while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration. 


  2. Contribute directly to technical development efforts as needed. 


  2. Represent the company's R&D capabilities 


  2. internally and externally to customers, partners, investors, and senior leadership. 

Required Qualifications: 


  2. MSc or PhD in electrical engineering or solid-state physics field. 


  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D leadership roles, including proven experience as VP or Director of R&D managing 15+ engineers.  


  2. Deep experience in power electronics, semiconductors technologies, and packaging of Power Semiconductor Devices. 


  2. Demonstrated success in leading products from development to mass production 


  2. Experience managing multiple departments within an R&D organization. 


  2. Proven ability to operate effectively in a fabless semiconductor environment. 


  2. Experience working in dynamic start-up environments. 


  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 


  2. Familiarity with automotive product development processes and qualification standards. 


  2. Experience with GaN or SiC technologies. 


  2. Recognized expertise through presenting at international conferences.
