As a Firmware Developer (f/m/d), you will be part of our Product & Tech Department and you'll help design, develop, and test firmware for our products under the guidance of our senior developers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with hardware, learning how systems function at the system level, and developing their skills in embedded software development. You will be involved in the entire development process, including prototyping, development, testing, and analysis. This will give you the opportunity to actively shape the future of Nuki.

Your Role

• You work on the design, development, and debugging of firmware for embedded systems and microcontrollers.
• You implement and test device drivers and simple communication interfaces.
• You write, document, and maintain code following our established coding standards.
• You participate in code reviews and learn from feedback provided by senior developers.
• You support firmware validation and testing, including unit and integration tests.
• You troubleshoot and resolve bugs (with support).
• You support hardware developers with prototyping by providing special firmware builds.

Job Requirements

• You have at least 3 years of professional experience in firmware development and have solid programming skills in C.
• You have basic experience with FreeRTOS.
• You have basic knowledge about the development of wireless technologies (especially BLE/WiFi or Thread).
• You are familiar with the concept of unit testing.
• You can read electronic circuits and related layouts.
• You have excellent written and spoken English skills, German language skills are a plus..
• You are flexible in your thinking and actions, you get things done, and you focus on what is possible, take ownership, and go the extra mile.

For the advertised position, a minimum salary of € 3,843,- gross per month applies according to the collective agreement (no all-in). Willingness to significantly overpay if you have the appropriate qualifications. This position is open for applications in Graz.
