Your position

We are looking for a Digital Research and AI Professional to act as a crucial bridge between our IT and R&D departments, enabling seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This role focuses on integrating digital workflows, such as setting up agents or supporting ongoing initiatives with external partners. You will help translate technical requirements into practical solutions for R&D, support data delivery processes, and develop smaller-scale digital tools to improve efficiency. While expertise in refractory materials is not required, we are looking for a technically skilled communicator who understands scientific contexts and can deliver scalable, user-friendly data solutions that advance our research capabilities.

Your tasks

• Supporting the integration of digital tools and workflows between R&D and IT teams
• Implementing user-friendly solutions such as chatbots or automation scripts to streamline daily operations
• Collaborating with external research partners on digital initiatives and workflow improvements
• Helping research teams with locating, preparing, and organizing data for internal and external reporting needs
• Contributing to the development of small-scale digital enhancements (e.g. macros) to improve efficiency and data accessibility

Your tech stacks

• AI/ML Tools: ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot 365
• Programming: Python, SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript
• Integration: SharePoint, APIs, Connectors

Your profile

• A degree in a technical, scientific, or IT-related field (e.g. engineering, physics, chemistry, computer/data science) or equivalent practical experience
• Knowledge of AI tools in enterprise environments (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise) and their application in research
• Basic programming skills for automation and data workflows (e.g. Python, SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners
• A proactive mindset, motivation to learn, and a strong interest in digital tools and data-driven problem solving

Languages: English: Fluent, German: Intermediate

Nice to have: Experience in digitalization projects or AI implementation within an R&D context, along with familiarity in data visualization, automation, or scripting tools.
