Technical Co-Founder

This is a founding role, not an employment position.
You will own Burvol's technology end-to-end and turn a working MVP into a scalable, defensible product. You are responsible not just for building the system, but for deciding what should exist at all.
Responsibilities
• Own the technical architecture across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure
• Make and defend core system design decisions
• Scale an existing MVP into a production-grade platform
• Translate abstract product ideas into concrete technical systems
• Build internal tools, models, and infrastructure with long-term leverage in mind
• Work directly with the founder on product direction and feasibility
• Eventually hire, mentor, and lead the engineering team
There is no one to hide behind.
If something breaks, it's yours.
If something works, you designed it.
What This Is Not
• Not a feature-ticket role
• Not a junior mentorship position
• Not a "just backend" or "just frontend" job
• Not suitable if you need stability or a roadmap handed to you
Requirements
• Proven ability to design and ship real systems
• Strong systems thinking and architectural judgment
• Comfort operating in high ambiguity
• Willingness to challenge ideas, including the founder's
• Bias toward execution over perfection
Relevant experience (not all required):
• Python (FastAPI or similar)
• Modern frontend frameworks (React / )
• Data modeling, graphs, or simulation systems
• Cloud infrastructure & deployment
• Practical AI / LLM integration
Commitment & Ownership
• No salary initially
• 50% founder-level equity after incorporation (vesting applies)
• Long-term commitment expected
This role only makes sense if you want ownership, leverage, and responsibility, not comfort.
