TORQ COMMODITIES is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement & Sourcing Specialist for Edible Nuts division is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to secure high-quality, cost-competitive raw materials across global markets. The role ensures consistent supply, develops supplier capability, assesses market risks, and supports the commercial team to drive margin, efficiency, and growth in the edible nuts portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Source edible nuts globally (e.g., almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, walnuts, pistachios, peanuts, etc.).
  • Conduct supplier evaluation including pricing, quality, capacity, lead times, and compliance.
  • Negotiate contract terms, volumes, pricing, and delivery conditions aligned with company strategy.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Contracting & Execution
  • Prepare and manage purchase contracts in collaboration with legal, logistics, and commercial teams.
  • Monitor execution of shipments, documentation, quality inspections, and delivery timelines.
  • Resolve operational and quality-related issues in coordination with QA and logistics.
  • Market Intelligence & Analysis
  • Track price developments, harvest cycles, logistics conditions, and supply/demand dynamics.
  • Provide timely market reports, competitive benchmarks, and commercial insights to management and trading teams.
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to product specifications, food safety standards, certifications (e.g., Organic, BRC, IFS), and sustainability requirements.
  • Contribute to risk-mitigation strategies including supplier diversification, contractual safeguards, or inventory strategy.
Requirements
  • 3–7 years' experience in sourcing, procurement, or trading of edible nuts.
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of international supply chains.
  • Experience working with global suppliers (EU, Middle East, Asia, Africa, Americas).
  • Knowledge of international trade documentation.

  • Fluency in English and German is required; additional language skills (e.g., Spanish, French) are a plus.

  • Preferred

  • Experience with commodity trading houses, food manufacturing, or FMCG.

  • Knowledge of quality standards and certification frameworks (e.g., Organic, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance).
  • Exposure to hedging, pricing mechanisms, or risk management tools.
