What you'll be doing The Department of Gynaecological Oncology is a centralised specialist service, one of only 6 designated public gynaecological cancer services in NSW. It is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, nurses, allied health professionals and researchers. It provides specialist care in the treatment of gynaecological cancers, pre-malignant conditions, suspicious pelvic masses as well as planned and emergency management of benign gynaecological and obstetric conditions where more complex surgery is required. Patients have access to the combined radiation and medical oncology services for complex chemotherapy/ immunotherapy and/or radiation therapy regimes, the Familial Cancer Services where indicated, as well as an extensive range of clinical trials and translational research studies. This role will be pivotal in promoting the development and implementation of current and emerging tumour profiling within the Department. It is essential to keep pace with the rapidly growing landscape of molecular targeted treatments. This role will ensure that the patient population of Western Sydney will have equitable access to optimal patient treatment and improvement in outcomes for women with gynaecological cancer. Essential Criteria Qualification: Post graduate degree qualification in science, public health, allied health or equivalent other experience. Selection Criteria Degree qualification in science, public health, allied health or equivalent other experience. Experience in communicating with patients. Demonstrated high-level experience using hospital information technology systems, and data collection. Good knowledge, practical experience and understanding of the processes around research, grant applications and clinical trials. Knowledge of medical terminology, especially in oncology and gynaecology. Demonstrated excellent time management skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and part of a team.
