Senior Payroll Officer (Contract) Arcadis is the world’s leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. This 12‑month contract role supports the Payroll Manager in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing. The Senior Payroll Officer reports directly to the Regional Payroll Manager. Role Accountabilities Assisting with end‑to‑end payroll processing in Australia for approximately 1,000 permanent employees and 100 casual employees. Providing adequate backup during the Payroll Manager’s absences. Assisting with payroll‑related general ledger activities and preparing end‑of‑month reports, annualised salaries and reconciliation processes. Managing salary packaging and leave reconciliations. Assisting with payroll tax and superannuation lodgements. Participating in process‑improvement projects. Interpreting awards and understanding the annualised salaries process. Promptly resolving employee and stakeholder queries. Performing other duties as required by the manager or Arcadis. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines. Reconciliation of timesheets and compliance, including time‑card comparison across different systems. Assisting with payroll system configuration and maintenance of employee records. Qualifications & Experience Extensive working knowledge of Sage MicroPay. Demonstrated past experience in a similar Australian payroll position, preferably in a professional services environment. Current knowledge and understanding of legislation related to payroll such as Single Touch Payroll. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail. Good communication skills. Professional approach and ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and seniority levels. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
