Job no : Work type: Permanent Full Time Location : Rosebery Mine We are MMG and we mine for progressRosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia. The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions. The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since and is one of Tasmania's largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré. It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond. The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation. MMG Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite. We are currently recruiting for a Civil Crew / Explosives Magazine Keeper to join our Mine Services Team at MMG Rosebery.The role reports to the Mine Services Supervisor and the accountabilities will include specific tasks related to your area of operation. This role is offered on 7 Days on 7 Days off Day Shift Only DIDO or Residential to Rosebery. Responsibilities Include (however not limited to) : Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to the storage, transport and use of explosives. Including but not limited to : maintenance of records, security of explosives products, stock on hand and reconciliation of usage Undertake audits and ensure compliance with the sites explosives management plan and external statutory requirements relating to explosives management and use Ensure goal achievement by working collaboratively with the mining team, technical team, onsite contractors and external suppliers to ensure the availability, security and safe use of all explosive products Interaction with shift supervisors, charge up operators, explosives delivery and other operational personnel to plan the shift and ensure conflicting requirements are managed and all operational requirements are met. Carrying out effective high quality workplace inspections, ensuring correct signage (warning / hazards) are used and maintained at all times according to site standards and procedures. Reporting of all incidents and hazards to your Shift Supervisor immediately About You : Ideally You will have a Trade background (Builder, Fitter, Welder) however we will consider candidates that have previous experience in Underground Civil or Service work. To be considered for this role you will have minimum of 3 Years' experience in underground mining, with a strong emphasis in a mechanised underground mining operation techniques. Have experience with the instillation & repair of mine services & infrastructure.
