Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Act as Duty Manager during rostered shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient venue operations. Ensure the venue is trade-ready according to daily operational requirements, including: Café open by 8:00am Music on and ambience set Doors open and customer areas fully set (tables/chairs) Tills operational TVs switched on with varied channels Gaming machines active and compliant Conduct opening and closing procedures in line with trading hours. Perform safe counts at open and close; document and report discrepancies immediately. Function & Event Management Manage all venue functions end-to-end, ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery. Communicate function requirements and staffing needs to the Operations Manager at least 7 days in advance (exceptions for late bookings such as wakes). Ensure venue reset is completed within 30 minutes after event conclusion. Liaise with Accounts/Payroll Manager regarding outstanding client payments. Staff Supervision & Development Supervise, mentor, and coach staff to consistently meet venue service standards. Ensure all staff complete required shift checklists. Monitor staff conduct and enforce discipline, addressing issues such as gossip or unauthorized mobile phone use. Ensure rostered gaming and management staff complete all AML/CTF documentation. Customer Service & Compliance Maintain excellent customer service across all areas and resolve customer concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol (RSA), AML/CTF, and gaming regulations. Monitor venue floor conditions, ensuring cleanliness, table sanitization, and reset after each use. Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in hospitality, club, or gaming venue management (preferred). Strong leadership and staff supervision skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (RSA, AML/CTF, gaming). Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure. High attention to detail with strong problem‑solving skills. Personal Attributes Professional, proactive, and customer‑focused. Strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
