Look no further About the Role WACountry Health Service (WACHS) is seeking experienced specialist Emergency Medicine Consultants registered with the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) to contribute to the provision of high-quality healthcare across our regional hospitals. Our Emergency Medicine departments handle a broad spectrum of cases, ranging from high-acuity scenarios, trauma presentations, and interhospital transfers from smaller inter-regional hospitals. The FACEM will provide specialist emergency medical care and ensure smooth patient flow for patients presenting to the Emergency Department. During clinical shifts, the FACEM provides clinical leadership to ensure optimal outcomes for patients through working with the multidisciplinary team including rural generalists. The FACEM supervises the work of Registrars and Junior Medical Officers (JMO’s) and is involved in teaching both JMO’s and medical students. About the Pool Joining the Consultant Emergency Medicine pool means submitting one application to be considered for multiple positions across WACountry Health Service (WACHS) throughout its duration. You can specify your preferred locations and availability with your application. Applications submitted via the Pool will be reviewed monthly, and once assessed, our team reaches out to discuss opportunities tailored to you. If you’re interested in a specific region and would like to know more, we encourage you to connect with us Remuneration The advertised salary range is based on classifications under the WA Health System – Medical Practitioners – AMA Industrial Agreement 2022. Classification and level are determined by factors including qualifications, experience, type of medical registration, location, and specialist assessment outcomes from the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM). *Medical Practitioners on casual contracts may be entitled to professional development allowance providing you don’t hold a contract with another WA Health entity. What we offer Generous leave entitlements - up to 4 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks professional development leave, 10 days sick leave, plus leave for compassionate or cultural reasons. We value and reward long service: Long Service Leave - 13 weeks of leave after 10 years of service. Overseas PDL - 5 weeks of additional leave after 5 years of service for overseas professional development. North West Gratuity Payment – Lump sum payment after 3 years (specific locations). Location based allowances which may include: Additional North West paid leave. District Allowance - regional specific. Annual travel subsidy (ALTC). Air-conditioning subsidy allowance. As a region resident, you might be entitled to capped flight pricing between Perth and the region. WACHS supports flexible working practices and consideration will be given to flexible work/roster options, where operationally appropriate. Information for Specialist International Medical Graduates To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector, it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or hold permanent residency status in Australia.
