Volunteer Guide at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway – Concord NSW Our guides play a vital role in honouring Australian soldiers who served on the Kokoda Track during World War Two by helping us to educate the public – especially school students – about the sacrifices made in the Kokoda Campaign. Key duties of our volunteers include welcoming students and community groups to the Walkway, assisting with wreath‑laying ceremonies at our Centrepiece and leading small groups along the Walkway, delivering commentary at each historical station. Volunteer involvement is flexible and coordinated with the needs of the Walkway. Previous volunteering experience is welcome but not essential, but you must be confident in speaking to groups. Support, including training and mentoring, is provided to all new volunteers. A valid Working with Children Check must be provided prior to starting as a volunteer. Category: Museums & Heritage Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months Type Of Work: Tour Guides, Information & Heritage Time Required: Volunteer involvement at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway is flexible and based on the schedule of tours and events at the Walkway. Tours are offered Monday to Friday within the hours of 10am to 2pm. Training: New volunteers will be paired with an experienced mentor for their first 3 months.
