Bathers' Pavilion is located at Balmoral Beach, just 20 minutes from the city. The venue features a two‑hatted restaurant, a busy upmarket bistro, a Thai restaurant, a function room, a kiosk and an art gallery. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic full‑time Junior Sous Chef to support our Thai restaurant, Betel Leaf, and to support our fast‑paced bistro. The successful candidate should have a minimum of two–three years experience in a similar role and will assist the Sous Chefs and Executive Chefs in executing high‑quality products. The position is full time, with shifts that include weekends and evenings. Applicants must hold resident status or an appropriate full‑time Australian work visa. This is a permanent long‑term position; working holiday or student visas are not accepted. Responsibilities High‑level execution of production Assist with ordering ingredients and equipment Maintain an operational and hygienic kitchen Reporting of production and equipment issues Manage and train kitchen staff Comply with sanitation and safety standards Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers Qualifications & Experience Minimum of two–three years experience in a similar role Ability in kitchen management Outstanding communication skills Familiarity with culinary trends and optimising kitchen processes Training in health and safety procedures Qualifications in culinary science or related field Benefits Work alongside Sydney’s best chefs: Perry Hill, formerly of Luke Mangan, MG Garage and Botanica of Vaucluse.
