Summary The Account Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships within our growing network of airline and hotel partners, with the goal of generating strategic growth through exceptional procurement delivery. This position requires strategic vision to identify and interpret market trends and set appropriate hotel sourcing strategies. Excellent negotiation skills, contracting experience, teamwork, and delegation are essential. You will deliver aggressive savings targets to provide maximum value to our customers while developing and maintaining progressive supplier relationships. The Account Manager negotiates, implements, and manages hotel and ground‑transportation contracts, ensures contractual obligations, manages day‑to‑day client relationships, and works closely with API ops, the Account Coordinator, and suppliers to manage crew member feedback. Essential Functions Client Relationship Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within airline and hotel partners. Communicate and meet with major clients regularly to ensure that API deliverables are met. Create client sourcing strategy based on market insights. Report on strategy and savings matrix for nominated accounts. Provide new points of view and recommendations aligned with client business goals. Develop strategic account plans with VP APAC. Support delivery of strategic account objectives. Suggest solutions and innovative ideas to meet client needs. Manage complaints and problems in a timely and effective manner. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and budget forecasts for clients. Site Inspections Prepare and conduct pre‑site inspections domestically and internationally to assure suitability for airline requirements. Conduct hotel site inspections domestically and internationally in partnership with airlines. Manage union relationships as part of the site inspection process. Day‑to‑Day Account Management Work closely with API team members to ensure client needs are met and share leads with hotels and airlines. Communicate performance, strategy, and needs to Director of Client Delivery. Coordinate and manage weekly meetings with airlines to keep sourcing deliverables on target. Maintain action logs and lead meetings to review action points with airlines and internal teams. Support and prepare client communications, including weekly performance meetings and business reviews. Assist Research & Sourcing team with accurate destination presentation details. Document, troubleshoot, and resolve operational and sourcing events. Become knowledgeable in API’s technology platforms for the Account Management department. Maintain spreadsheets and update databases. Support Director of Client Delivery or Account Management on assigned projects. Key Accountabilities Deliver strategic account plans successfully. Manage central repository for contracts (Salesforce) and ensure timely execution. Obtain data from varied sources to identify and support fact‑driven opportunities. Conduct market and risk analyses to drive hotel sourcing strategies and review contracts. Share market knowledge with team members to support other airline accounts. Ensure operational aspects of the relationship are supported, working alongside operations. Guarantee suppliers are paid on time through effective contract implementation. Systems Requirements MyCrewCare Manage crew member feedback via online portal for all assigned accounts. Identify where supplier performance management is required and implement improvement plans. Add new hotels to system and ensure accurate information. Hotel Express Seek opportunities and negotiate preferred rates for crew, business, and leisure travel. Load and maintain rates properly on Hotel Express for clients. ACES Verify all hotel contract information is loaded correctly into ACES for OPS and Accounting. Review ACES schedules monthly and assist OPS with hotel follow‑up. Verify client backup list in ACES for OPS. Salesforce Ensure all opportunities are recorded with accurate business dates and revenue projections. Enter contracts before start dates. Maintain accurate crew volumes for forecasting. Work Environment Hybrid office environment. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Monday through Friday, normal core business hours; occasional evenings and weekends may be required as duties demand. Travel Approximately 30% travel. Required Education And Experience At least 3 years in an account manager or customer-facing role. Minimum 5 years in the travel industry. Experience negotiating contractual deals that delivered commercial outcomes. Strong negotiation and commercial skills with ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Results‑focus with continuous improvement mindset. Ability to manage workload in fast‑paced environment. Organized self‑starter, proactive and independent. Attention to detail and ability to produce high quality work. Positive representation of API in customer facing situations. Strong Microsoft Office skills, emphasis on Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service and client relationship skills. Ability to work with diverse cultures. Flexible schedule and travel availability.
