home_work Hybrid Posted 1 day ago Partnering with a leading NFP Healthcare organisation, we're seeking an experienced and values-driven Head of Finance to join a respected healthcare organisation based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring sound financial management, compliance, and strategic support to sustain and grow the organisation’s impact. Leading a small accounting and payroll team, this position will suit someone with strong technical accounting skills, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to operate strategically across both finance and broader business services. Key Responsibilities: Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and management reporting, partnering with senior leaders to align financial planning with organisational strategy. Oversee financial operations including cashflow management, reconciliations, payroll, tax, superannuation, and asset registers. Provide analysis and insight into operational and activity-based performance to support executive and board decision‑making. Manage the development of both government and non‑government grant applications, assessing feasibility and funding impact. Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and risk management practices, including liaison with auditors and external stakeholders. Foster a high‑performing and customer‑focused finance team culture, balancing day‑to‑day delivery with continuous improvement. About You: CPA or CA qualified (or equivalent). Proven experience in a Head of Finance, Finance Manager, or similar leadership role, ideally within a healthcare, community services, or not‑for‑profit environment. Prior exposure to SME or mid‑sized environments, demonstrating the ability to work hands‑on while maintaining a strategic lens. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial and operational data and communicate insights to executives and board members. Experience supporting grant or tender applications with feasibility/ viability analysis is highly regarded. Skilled across MYOB (preferably Advanced/Acumatica), payroll, and Microsoft Office applications. Experience leading an ERP upgrade/ implementation (highly desirable) Excellent stakeholder engagement, organisation, and people management skills. What’s on Offer?
