Join the Bankstown Community Mental Health Emergency Team (CoMHET)—a fast‑paced, highly skilled team making a real difference every day. Working under an Acute Care Service Model, CoMHET provides timely mental health assessments, short‑term intensive treatment in the community, and helps shape care pathways at critical moments. Whether face‑to‑face, via telehealth, or over the phone, you’ll be part of a team that meets people where they are—at home, in the clinic, or out in the community. With a 7‑day rotating roster across morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, flexibility is built in. You’ll be based at Bankstown Community Health Centre, with opportunities for home visits and outreach—no two days are the same. Being a pool clinician is unique You will be filling a vacancy in the team listed; as other vacancies arise throughout our service you may be required to transfer into another position and share your skills within our service You will be based at Bankstown, however future opportunities may also present at Ingleburn, Campbelltown, Ambarvale, Liverpool, Fairfield and Wollondilly based mental health services. Temporary visa holders are also encouraged to apply We are offering opportunities with a limited contract period based on the length of your current visa What You’ll Be Doing The Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing evidence‑based, strengths focused, recovery‑orientated assessment and treatment within a multi‑disciplinary team and coordinating consumers’ recovery plans. The role also oversees non‑clinical tasks including participation in quality improvement activities, clinical supervision and administrative responsibilities as required. Where You’ll Be Working SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community‑based mental health care across South Western Sydney. These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. They work closely with inpatient services, GPs, and other community organisations to provide holistic care. Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or CSU Graduates: Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
