Overview Join the Department of Health, Tasmania as an Admissions Officer L2) at the Launceston General Hospital. The Admissions department is part of Peri‑Operative Services and is responsible for elective surgery bookings, cancellations, admissions, and the management of the Elective Surgery Waiting List, under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager. Key Responsibilities Manage the Elective Surgery Waiting list, including handling frontline patient phone calls and face‑to‑face admissions. Use required computer programs effectively. Implement and audit processes as part of continuous improvement efforts. Collaborate with the team and contribute to a positive working environment. Maintain availability for varied shift times on a rotating roster: 0630‑1436, 0700‑1506, 0800‑1606, and 0900‑1706. Qualifications & Skills Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, problem‑solve, and adapt to changes throughout the day. Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating THS CARE values. Work Details Permanent, full‑time day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight. Position commences 5 January 2026. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. The Statement of Duties should be reviewed to address selection criteria. Salary $73,811 to $79,779 per annum, with an additional 12% superannuation contribution. Salary aligns with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022. Benefits Professional development and accelerated pathways.
