As a Program/Project Officer at the Department of Education, you will create a better future for Australians through education. Working alongside experienced and supportive team members, you will contribute to the effective delivery of programs that support improved early learning, schooling, student educational outcomes and transitions to and from school through access to quality early childhood and care, support, parent engagement, quality teaching and learning environments. The Branch has a responsibility to deliver, support and drive effective Child Care Subsidy (CCS) program implementation and management. Key functions of the Branch include: Delivering CCS integrity measures Achieving program savings Risk identification and management Prioritisation and response development Key duties of the position include: Providing administrative and project support, ensuring adherence to the department’s Project Management Framework. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, triaging, resolving and referring queries in a timely manner, providing accurate advice/direction and escalating as necessary. Ensuring information is recorded and maintained accurately, updating team resources, SharePoint and other program/project documentation. Conducting research and analysis to support program/project development, plans and strategies to inform evidence‑based outcomes. Assisting in the preparation of documents, reports, correspondence, briefs and agreements and assisting in monitoring budgets, deliverables, invoices, acquittals and benefits. Assisting with stakeholder management activities, including consultation and secretariat support such as arranging meetings, agendas, taking minutes, consolidating committee papers, distributing meeting packs and recording and monitoring action items. Supporting procurement and contract management and associated tasks. Supporting improvements to program/project management processes, systems and frameworks to enhance outcomes and support data‑driven decision making and best practice project management. Assisting and supporting the team to achieve operational and strategic objectives. Qualifications and Education PRINCE2 Foundation Training or equivalent (Mandatory) Eligibility Citizenship: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing. Security Clearance: This is a designated security‑assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
