About the Opportunity As part of a company‑wide strategic transformation, focusing on continued future success, this is an exciting opportunity to join a market‑leading manufacturing organization investing in best practice supply chain processes across Australia as it designs and implements a unified national transport model across its Australian footprint. This position will report to the GM Supply Chain and is responsible for freight and logistics operations nationally. A key priority is defining the national transport strategy and ensuring cohesion and integration of the state‑based operations, including service models, cost optimisation and a digital enablement roadmap. In pursuit of future state success, this role will ensure the standardisation of best practice, optimising transport efficiency and supporting strategic transformation initiatives. The role will play a key leadership role to attain consistency in route and load optimisation and support the implementation of a new Transport Management System (TMS). Key Responsibilities Lead the work stream review and national standardisation of transport practices. Develop process maps to support the new TMS, ensuring alignment with operational needs and business goals. Collaborate with key stakeholders and business unit heads to support freight strategies that underpin growth, efficiency and customer service excellence. Ensure full operational oversight of transport functions. Manage third‑party relationships with carriers including contract negotiation and supplier selection. Optimise route planning, load utilisation and scheduling. Prioritise safety and compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL). Ensure detailed performance and cost optimisation reviews are analysed and meaningful KPIs created and acted upon. Champion innovation, digitisation and ongoing continuous improvement activities. Who We Are Looking For You will be a highly experienced supply chain & logistics expert with a track record of demonstrable success in managing a full suite of freight, transport and distribution responsibilities. You will have managed and led a national footprint working across all states and multiple locations while providing motivational leadership to a sizeable team and a broad array of direct reports. In addition to operational excellence, you will exhibit strategic thinking, a change‑management mindset and a data‑driven approach to process improvement and innovation. In short, you will be a highly experienced freight and logistics manager who has successfully crafted a high‑performance team with national scope and multi‑site responsibilities while leveraging insights and fact‑based dashboards to underpin inspirational leadership and crisp decision‑making.
